New York Knicks championship celebrations turned sour for streamer Nina Lin after the NYPD arrested her for climbing on top of a moving Amazon delivery van.

Nina Lin has become synonymous with controversy on Twitch, so you’d think a recent ban would become her cue to lay low. Instead, she’s back in the spotlight, and this time she’s gone too far. The streamer spent the night of June 13 in a jail cell after the NYPD arrested her for being disorderly during New York Knicks championship celebrations.

June 13 was quite a day for the NYPD anyway, with hoards of people coming out to celebrate the Knicks’ first NBA win in 53 years. The team won their first NBA title since 1973 after beating San Antonio Spurs in Game five of the finals. Wild celebrations broke out throughout the city, including the one near Madison Square Garden, where Nina Lin was arrested. Her Twitch account NinaDaddyisBack was banned, but this was reversed on June 23.

Why was Nina Lin arrested?

On July 13, streamer Nina Lin jumped on top of an Amazon delivery van and cheered at the fans who were celebrating the Knicks win. Eventually, the NYPD pulled up to arrest the streamer.

In Nina’s defense, she did ask the driver if she could climb on top of the van. He appeared indifferent, not approving, but not refusing either. Trouble started when the van began moving and Lin started shouting to fans, even shaking hands with some of them. Beyond the reckless endangerment her stunt could be construed as, Lin was also being visibly disorderly.

It’s worth noting that the officers had already placed barricades to contain the crowd, and her behavior was only causing more disruption. As a result, one of the officers asked her to get down, and when she did, she was put into a pair of handcuffs.

She was released with a desk appearance ticket around 4 a.m, and rest assured, she wasn’t happy about the arrest.

“I celebrated the Knicks win in the f**king cell! And my camera man ran off. I’m in jail. Won’t free me, no water, no food, no nothing, shoelaces off barefoot in the f**king cell,” Nina Lin said.

She also claimed that her camera man ran off with her equipment and passport right as she got arrested. Despite being very angry, Nina Lin requested her fans to send her the best angles of her arrest.

This isn’t the first time Nina Lin is at the center of a controversy. She was previously banned from Twitch in October 2025 after a resurfaced clip showed her appearing to hold an assistant to FaZe Silky, while fellow streamer Zoe Spencer twerked on him without his consent. Lin later issued a public apology.

Her next controversy came a month later when viewers suspected that Nina Lin may have shoplifted from Target. She later acknowledged the event, but refused to apologize. With Lin receiving a Twitch ban after this incident, it remains to be seen if this will be a permanent stop to her streaming on the platform.
