Nikita Bier targets MrBeast over X post

X’s Head of Product, Nikita Bier, is known to not mince his words, and he has now called out Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson for allegedly engaging in financial baiting on X.

Nikita Bier came into the spotlight in the streaming space when he took a dig at Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr., enraging the streamer’s fans. Since then, Bier has been promoting the use of livestreaming on X but has managed to stay out of the limelight by avoiding discussing other streamers. However, that has changed, as X’s Head of Product targeted YouTuber MrBeast for apparently using financial baiting in his posts.

What’s the drama between MrBeast and Nikita Bier

As the screenshot below shows, MrBeast recently made a post on X, containing a picture of a room filled with pennies. The YouTuber captioned the post “First person to reply with the exact number of pennies in this room wins $10,000.” He appeared to be joking, as it was unlikely that anyone would be able to guess or count the pennies in the picture.

Nikita Bier MrBeast

Nikita Bier was quick to comment on the picture, telling MrBeast to “make a single piece of content without financial bait.” This started a discussion among viewers, with many supporting MrBeast. They questioned what right Nikita Bier has to call out one of the most popular streamers in the world. Some even went as far as to claim Bier should be fired for abusing his power.

This isn’t the first time Nikita Bier has criticized MrBeast, as he previously commented on an X post of the YouTuber, claiming he was “not getting paid this cycle.” In that particular post, MrBeast had said that if his post got only 1 like, he would give the person $1,000,000. Bier wasn’t the only one to call out MrBeast, and several viewers alleged that the YouTuber was engagement baiting and was in violation of X’s monetization policies.

Nikita Bier isn’t the only one to criticize MrBeast for his content, and even the streamer’s viewers routinely tell him to stop engagement farming. However, the YouTuber has built his entire brand around giveaway content, so it’s hard for him not to have some sort of financial aspect in posts. This is similar to other creators, such as YouTuber Steve “SteveWillDoIt” Deleonardis, who recently gifted the Mexican team Rolexes because he won a bet due to their performance. However, X’s monetization rules restrict using tactics to inflate replies, likes, or interactions.

Our view

Regardless of whether Bier was in the right to call out MrBeast or not, he isn’t a fan favorite at the moment with some. The biggest negative thing he did was telling iShowSpeed that he criticized the YouTuber’s X community, when he was requesting X not to remove the feature. Since then, viewers have become critical of Nikita Bier and questioned his moderation style, which involves very public posts.

iShowSpeed and MrBeast are two of the biggest YouTubers, both having appeared in the top 10 of Forbes’ 2026 Top Creators list. But regardless, famous names do not seem to faze Bier, who has served as X’s Head of Product since July 2025 after being handpicked by Elon Musk for the role, so this is unlikely to be the last time he gets involved with a big streamer.
