In Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, the side quest “The Fireworks Artist”
takes place in Goron City and is one of the simpler quests in the game. It
is relatively quick to complete, yet it rewards players with an exclusive Echo item
that can be useful later in the game.
This guide outlines the steps required to complete the quest
and obtain the
Firework Echo.
Before beginning
the “Fireworks Artist” quest,
you must clear the rift in Eldin Temple.
This is a necessary prerequisite
for the side quest to become available.
Once this has been done, the steps are follows:
Head to Goron City
Return to Goron City and
make your way to Darston’s room.
Find Basa
Take the stairs up and
enter the room to right of Darston’s.
Over there you will meet Basa,
a character who is working on creating new types of fireworks.
Start the quest
Talk to Basa, and
he will task you with finding an item called blastpowder soil
Finding blastpowder soil
The key to completing this Fireworks Artist side quest is acquiring the blastpowder soil.
This item can be found near the Rock-Roast Quarry, specifically near a set of golden flowers. The steps to locate it are as follows:
Travel to Rock-Roast Quarry
If you’ve activated the fast-travel
Waypoint stone during the “Rift on Eldin Volcano” main quest, you can warp directly to the quarry.
If not, head northwest from Goron City.
Look for Golden Flowers
Blastpowder soil is located to the left of the quarry entrance,
next to a small hot spring and a
cluster of three patches of golden flowers.
Collect the Soil
Approach the sparkling area near the flowers to collect the blastpowder soil.
This item is specific to the quest and has no other use in the game.
Completing the quest
Once you have obtained the blastpowder soil, return to Goron City and give it to Basa. Upon doing so, the Fireworks Artist quest will be completed, and you’ll complete it. The rewards are as follows:
50 Rupees
As a basic reward for completing the quest.
Firework Echo
This special Echo item unleashes fireworks, which, while not particularly useful in combat or exploration, is essential for future quests.
The Firework Echo has limited immediate value, but it plays an important role in the “Explosions Galore!” side quest. The key details are as follows:
“Explosions Galore!” Quest
This quest is unlocked once you have completed“Automaton Engineer Dampe,”
which becomes available after meeting Dampe on the road to Lanayru.
Tocktorok Automation
Successfully completing “Explosions Galore!” will
reward you with the Tocktorok Automation.
By completing “The Fireworks Artist,” you not only gain a small reward but also open the path to a series of connected quests that offer more substantial items later in the game.
