Overwatch 2 has been riddled with controversy since launch, from queues with 30,000 players to controversial mods to an influx of cheaters. Now, popular streamer and former Overwatch League pro Felix “xQc” Lengyel is demanding more patches.
Overwatch 2 has been ridiculed since the beta for its unbalanced roster of heroes. With the game going 5v5, tanks have become more aggressive, leaving DPS and support heroes more vulnerable than in Overwatch 1. Some of the tanks have felt downright oppressive, including Zarya.
Overwatch players were expecting a patch when the Halloween Terror event dropped but soon realized that there wasn’t a single balance update when the Halloween event launched. Now, xQc is demanding something be done.
xQc demands Overwatch 2 devs balance the game
xQc was playing a few games as Cassidy when he started to become frustrated with the state of the colorful shooter. He said that the enemy team was “abusing” Zarya and Sombra.
“Both characters need to be hotfixed. I’m not kidding you. They need to remove the characters until they are fixed. They are f—ing broken. Fix the f—ing game. It’s not that f—ing hard,” xQc exclaimed.
So what was it that had xQc raging?
In Overwatch 2, Zarya has two bubbles instead of one like she did in the first game. Each bubble lasts two and a half seconds. The five seconds of protection and increased damage had xQc heated. He called her kit “busted.”
Luckily, there may be a fix in the near future. A leaked balance patch has shown that Zarya will be nerfed. According to sources, these changes have “gone through” but are only available in the Overwatch League practice server.
The big balance patch will possibly not come out until midway through the season. But so far, it’s unclear when these leaked patch notes will finally be implemented. For now, people will have to deal with Zarya’s powerful abilities, which are especially oppressive in high-ranked matches.
