xQc finally plays Dota 2, falls for biggest bait in history

xQc frustrated on Twitch

Former Overwatch League pro and current superstar streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel has been playing Dota 2 on stream and came out on the bad end of one of the best baits you’ll ever see.

xQc has previously butted heads with people for preferring Dota 2 to League of Legends. He has criticized Riot Games’ MOBA on a few occasions in the past, stating in December that it lacks the depth of Dota 2.

The trouble with that is xQc has actually streamed quite a bit of League of Legends. He has barely ever touched Dota 2. He recently returned to Valve’s MOBA for a short stream and naturally wound up making a hilarious highlight.

xQc takes hilarious death in Dota 2 after getting baited by feeder

Playing as carry Faceless Void against a feeding Wraith King, xQc got a double damage rune and figured he was positioned for an easy kill. Even though his ultimate wasn’t up, he was still a farmed level 17 carry while his prey was impoverished and under-leveled.

The problem was that the enemy team had vision on xQc and was anticipating his approach. He Time Walked towards the Wraith King only to see him blink away at the exact right moment. The trap was sprung.

An enemy Pudge came up right next to him and landed an ultimate. A Shadow Fiend with Shadow Blade ulted out of invisibility and landed another ultimate. And of course, the feeding Wraith King saw a chance to get a free assist and doubled back to guarantee a kill with a stun. The sequence made xQc’s jaw drop and gave the opposing team a big boost, with each of the three heroes involved in the kill getting a level up for their efforts.

Is xQc good at Dota 2?

It’s hard to tell how good xQc is at Dota 2, but his performances during Twitch streams suggest he’s well above average the skill level of the average Dota 2 player.

xQc played a few games and boasted strong individual stats in each one. The highlight was a position-one Slark game that he won while finishing with 801 GPM and 28 kills in a 40-minute victory.

Though Overwatch and Dota 2 are very different games, players who are at the pro level in any skill-based game tend to just be very good at video games in general. xQc likely won’t go pro in Dota 2, but players on the US East server playing unranked should be happy if they see him pop up on their team.

That said, xQc was playing unranked against random opponents and hasn’t shown his MMR. For the time being, the exact level of his skills remains a mystery.
