Karmine Corp bot laner Matthew “xMatty” Coombs has reportedly verbally agreed to join Team BDS for the upcoming LEC season.

The 22-year-old bot laner would be making his LEC debut together with the Team BDS organization who bought the spot of Schalke 04 earlier this year. According to Dot Esports, the talented bot laner will be signing a two-year contract with the team which is also rumored to have other current or former Karmine Corp players on the starting lineup.

Who is xMatty?

xMatty has played the whole 2021 season with Karmine Corp, winning the 2021 LPL Spring Split and securing a second-place finish in the most recent LFL summer split. xMatty and the rest of Karmine Corp ended the summer split by winning the European Masters summer event, where xMatty proved himself as a rock for the team.

If the rumors stay true, xMatty could be joining Team BDS alongside former Schalke 04 players Dino “LIMIT” Tot and Ilias “NUCLEARINT” Biziken. The two former Schalke 04 players have previously been rumored to join Team BDS as a package deal.

It has previously been rumored that Team BDS has gotten its hands on former G2 Esports head coach Fabian “Grabbz” Lohmann, which would be a big addition for the inexperienced organization. Grabbz as a head coach would mean having a figure that has won numerous trophies and knows what it takes to develop talent to go all the way to the top.

While xMatty and none of the other players are officially signed with Team BDS as of yet, it’s expected that some official news will start dropping after November 15 when the free agency period officially kicks off.

Since this is still some days away, the landscape could still change for Team BDS which is also still looking to lock in a top and mid laner for the squad.
