XDefiant patch improves ranked mode with strict 8-player lobbies

XDefiant ranked mode is still new, and Ubisoft continues to polish it based on feedback. Competitive players will be glad that the latest update introduces much-needed improvements to XDefiant ranked mode.

The ranked mode in XDefiant is highly cut-throat. Unfortunately, players would sometimes have to tackle four enemies while they are outnumbered due to a pesky leaver. This would result in an easy win for the enemy due to a player advantage. XDefiant has now introduced changes that would force players to take ranked mode seriously or not queue at all.

Besides this, the new XDefiant patch 1.3 introduces several buffs for shotgun and finally nerfs the annoying Spiderbot.

XDefiant ranked mode is strictly 4v4 now

While the ranked mode has always been 4v4, the game wouldn’t care if one team had one less player going into the match. However, after the new patch 1.3 update, XDefiant will not start a game if someone leaves during the wait time. All players will be returned to their main menus to restart the queue.

This means players will no longer have to play odd lobbies, as ranked modes will now only be played if all eight players are present.

What happens when you leave a ranked game in XDefiant?

If you leave a game, the ranked points loss penalty has been increased from 40RP to 50RP in the new XDefiant patch 1.3. Players can no longer leave games during the voting time as the developer has removed the left button, to begin with.

Those who leave after a ranked game has started will face serious penalties in the future. This has been announced in the new patch, but the update hasn’t yet been shipped. According to XDefiant, leavers will either face punishment in the form of reduced ranked points or a matchmaking ban.

“It’s not quite ready for rollout yet, as the team wants to be sure players who are accidentally disconnected don’t get penalized, but the update is coming soon.” The developer said.

The system is currently being tested and will be shipped soon.
