Mizkif Maya breakup

It’s no secret that streamer Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo took the breakup with his long-time girlfriend Maya Higa hard.

The two had a very public relationship and their fans loved seeing them together. But will they ever date again? Will Mizkif and Maya get back together? Can they ever reconcile things after how their relationship ended?

When did Mizkif and Maya break up?

Mizkif shocked the streaming community on September 14 when he shared a TwitLonger explaining that his relationship with Higa was over. The TwitLonger didn’t say exactly when the two broke up but it was most likely around the time the message to fans was written.

Why did Mizkif and Maya break up?

In the TwitLonger, Mizkif and Maya explained to fans why their two-year relationship was ending. Mizkif stated that the breakup was mutual and was a decision that was best for both of them. There was seemingly no cheating, drama, or specific event that spurred the unfortunate decision.

“We both care about each other so much and are still friends. We’re supporting each other through this and we ask that you all do the same for us both. We’re going to take a couple weeks off of streaming to process and to take care of ourselves,” Mizkif said in the TwitLonger.

After the TwitLonger was revealed, the two streamers took a break from content creation. During that time, Mizkif said he had been getting support from his parents and working on his health. Higa had been packing and planning to leave, something that upset fans who thought she might be staying with him.

“I really do want to go back to streaming, badly. But I can’t yet. Especially these next few days with Maya moving out. It’s just going to be a lot of s–t for both of us to deal with and I’m not in the mood to stream. I really have no idea when I’m going to be live, but it will not be until at least October 1st,” Mizkif said at the time.

Mizkif ended up returning to Twitch on October 5. While he felt ready to stream he warned fans that he was still dealing with the breakup.

Will Mizkif and Maya Higa get back together?

It doesn’t seem like Mizkif and Maya will get back together any time soon.

Mizkif and Higa started dating in the summer of 2019. The two became close very quickly, even telling viewers that they were planning to get married.

Despite the TwitLonger explaining what happened, fans of the couple speculated that the two were breaking up for content and would get back together in a month or so. Others wondered if Mizkif was getting too close to other female streamers, including Natalia “Alinity” Mogollon.

But Mizkif and Maya have not made any comments about the relationship since the TwitLonger. The two have been tweeting about their content creation, with Higa advertising her bird-related causes and Mizkif tweeting about his busy schedule.
