Wild Rift Neeko leaked in background of new video

There’s been leaks on leaks for Riot Games this week, and a slip up in a promotional video seems to have been the latest, showing off the Wild Rift edition of Neeko.

In a video published earlier this week, League of Legends champion Neeko can be glimpsed in the background of the client displaying internal test footage from Riot Games’ future updates. Neeko is the latest of many champions rumored to be arriving in Wild Rift, League of Legends’ mobile adaptation.

Wild Rift Neeko accidentally shows up in Guild vs Guild video

Riot Games has introduced a new system to Wild Rift, with a guild system that includes an inter-guild conflict on weekends. The system rewards guilds for spreading the Armed condition to Unarmed teammates. Half of the guild begins the weekend as Armed while the other half are Unarmed. After an Armed guildmate plays a game with an Unarmed guildmate, that guildmate becomes Armed and can spread the condition to others.

Riot Games published a promotional video earlier this week that included footage of a player collecting their rewards for that week’s GvG event. In the background is the main screen with a very distinct champion’s ears and hair poking up over the top of the rewards display. The signature purple tufts belong distinctly to Neeko, League of Legends’ resident mind games expert and shapeshifter.

Neeko’s kit should be an easy enough conversion to a mobile platform. Neeko uses simple skill shots that should not complicate her translation overly much. One notable issue will be where Riot Games decides to put the space for Neeko to select which teammate she’s disguised as. On PC there’s plenty of space to store it above her ability bar or mini map, but Wild Rift has much less space for user interface elements.

It’s not yet been announced when Neeko will arrive, but she appears to be on her way to mobile soon.
