Who is the young star behind Team Spirit’s historic clean sweep against FaZe Clan at IEM Katowice 2024? Here’s what we know about the Russian superstar Danil “donk” Kryshkovets in CS2.

The Russian squad beat the FAZE Clan legends at the Grand Finals, taking home $400,000 out of IEM Katowice 2024’s US$1 million prize pool. A young rifler helmed Team Spirit’s smooth win at IEM Katowice. 

Who is CS2 pro player donk? 

Following Team Spirit’s triumph over FaZe Clan on February 11, the CS2 forums are buzzing with donk memes. The Russian team made the win look easy, but the team was propelled to a 3-0 victory by a 17-year-long rifler donk, who’s still a new name to many. 

Forged in Team Spirit’s Academy roster, donk was promoted to the main squad in August 2023. Since then, he has only put up highlight-worthy performances and has earned two MVPs. Before Katowice 2024, donk flexed their muscles at the BetBoom Dacha tournament, earning his first MVP as the youngest player ever. However, his S-tier debut at IEM Katowice 2024 is what’s turning heads.

Against FaZe Clan’s honed-up stars, donk wrapped the 3-0 win with a 1.93 rating, top fragging across all maps. Unsurprisingly, he’s currently the main point of discussion in CS2 esports as the superstar in the making.
