The Overwatch 2 beta has given Overwatch players an opportunity to not only play the highly anticipated sequel but also to provide feedback to developers at Blizzard. While it’s been an entertaining experience for many Overwatch fans, console players have felt a bit left out. So when will console players be able to access the Overwatch 2 beta?
The Overwatch 2 beta is unfortunately for PC players exclusively at this time. This has left PlayStation and Xbox players feeling a little salty. But there is some good news for console players who want to experience Overwatch 2 before it’s officially launched.
The Overwatch 2 closed beta is for PC players only, but Blizzard stated on its official blog post that there will be additional betas for Overwatch 2 in the future and that at least some of these will include console players.
No date was given for these upcoming Overwatch 2 beta periods. With no release date announced for Overwatch 2 itself, it’s difficult to predict when the next betas will be. For now, console players will have to stick to watching Overwatch 2 beta streams to get their Overwatch 2 fix.

Blizzard has not confirmed crossplay for Overwatch 2, but the community assumes it will be a part of the game since it’s included in Overwatch today.
Enabling crossplay in Overwatch allows PC players, Xbox players, and PlayStation players to all play together on the same team and compete against teams that include all versions of the game.
The first Overwatch game was initially released for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. But the Overwatch community was shocked when Blizzard announced the game was also coming to Nintendo Switch, complete with motion controls. Nintendo Switch players have access to crossplay as well.
Overwatch 2 will most likely not launch for the Nintendo Switch initially. The console has unique technical limitations that will require the game to be reconfigured for Nintendo Switch.
