When is the next Overwatch 2 beta coming? Here’s what we know
The Overwatch 2 PvP beta was an exciting time for the game’s fandom and its players and another test-run is in the works.
After years of delays and confusion, the Overwatch 2 beta finally showed fans what the sequel has to offer. This included new game modes, new maps, a new metas, new heroes, and hero reworks. Unfortunately, not everyone was able to take part, leaving many to hope for another to be released.
Fortunately for the Overwatch 2 community, the first Overwatch 2 PvP beta isn’t the last. Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming event.
When will the next Overwatch 2 PvP beta be?
The next Overwatch 2 beta is coming on June 28.
Players who participated in the previous test-run do not have their access roll over to the second one. It can be safely assumed that this will be the case on all future betas for the game.
While access for the first beta was decided through Twitch drops and other methods, access to the second one will be distributed via Blizzard’s website. Players simply need to click a button on the page in order to request access.
Will the next Overwatch 2 beta be on console?
The next beta will be available for Overwatch players on both console and PC.
Signups for the next beta offer players the ability to request access for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms. The original beta was only available for PC players, which makes this development significant for a large portion of the fandom. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch players will have to watch this one from the sidelines.
Will there be more betas?
It is unknown how many more Overwatch 2 beta sessions there will be after the second test-run. The game is set to launch in October, so there is a clear time limit on this for the time being.
More information will be collected from users and the number of betas may hinge on what occurs here. A number of significant balance adjustments are set to come in this beta after the initial run suffered from both overpowered and weak heroes. The pivot from six-on-six to five-on-five unearthed loads of balance issues that will need addressing.
There will likely be more updates to support heroes as well as other balances and tweaks. But players won’t know specifics until it drops on June 28.
