Escape From Tarkov likes to reset the player population’s progress at regular intervals to keep things interesting, so when is the next Escape From Tarkov wipe?
Escape From Tarkov is a persistent extraction shooter than offers in-game progression for playing, completing quests, and committing time to the game. However, after a while, lots of players are very far into the game and there’s a significant power disparity. This is when developer Battlestate Games does what it refers to as a “wipe.” Wipes reset all players’ progression to the starting supplies granted by their version of the game. This tend to follow a schedule, so here is our best guess on the timing of the next Escape From Tarkov wipe.
The last Escape From Tarkov wipe was in December 2022. Escape From Tarkov wipes tend to be in the 150-200 day range between each other, especially recently. If that trend continues, around five months after December 2022 is when Battlestate Games would look to patch the hardcore survival shooter, estimated to be in late June. These wipes have become more and more standard as the game has gotten further into its lifespan. In recent years, they’ve become well-scheduled and tend to happen on a Thursday, as has become the pattern.

With each patch comes major updates, generally, and Battlestate Games is eyeing several key changes in the future. One is an expansion of Streets of Tarkov, already one of their most expansive maps. Others include ground-up reworks of core systems to try and make the demanding shooter less spec-heavy. Whatever it may hold, it won’t be until late June if Battlestate’s previous schedule continues.
