What’s next for Logan Paul after signing WWE contract?
Logan Paul has an official contract with WWE, setting him up to appear with the promotion over the next few years.
World Wrestling Entertainment is the largest pro wrestling company in the world, with a roster that includes many of the largest names in the industry. This now includes Logan Paul, a controversial YouTube star who has recently focused much of his energy on wrestling and Pokemon card collecting.
Logan Paul announced the signing on social media earlier. The Twitter post included photos of him signing the contract with interim CEO Stephanie McMahon by his side.
The breaking news was met with mixed reactions, with some people feeling that WWE had stopped caring about wrestling and was more interested in influencers and entertainment. Others responded that Paul put the “W” in WWE.
What will Logan Paul do for WWE after signing contract?
Logan Paul hasn’t revealed any information behind his freshly signed contract. It’s currently unclear if he’s signing on for a single event or if he will now be full-time talent.
According to reports, the deal runs through 2023. WWE seemingly confirmed this by promoting stories from major outlets on its social media channels.
Despite getting his start as a YouTuber and content creator, Logan Paul has been diving into the combat sports scene over recent years. Paul generated renewed interest in celebrity boxing in recent years. He notably had an exhibition match against longtime champion Floyd Mayweather in June 2021.
Paul signing on through 2023 is a short-term deal by WWE standards, which signs most talent to lengthy multi-year deals. He appeared at WrestleMania 2022 in a tag-team match where he partnered with The Miz against father-son duo Rey and Dominick Mysterio. The most likely scenario is that he makes appearances in WWE tentpole events such as SummerSlam, the Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania through the end of his term. He could also be more active throughout the year, similar to Ronda Rousey.
Though Logan Paul is predominantly known for being a controversial social media personality, he has impressed in most of his athletic endeavors to this point. Whether he is planning a full-time pivot is uncertain but it does provide a safety net in case of another catastrophic lapse in judgment from him.
