Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an action RPG developed by CyberConnect2 and released in 2020. The game continues to add content for players, and the most recent DLC is dropping soon. If you are a fan of this saga and ready to get into the game, here are all the differences between Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Ultimate and Deluxe editions you need to know about.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot combines elements from fighting and role-playing games. Battles are part of the story, but the primary activities are collecting Z orbs, eating, fishing, driving, and training. The game closely follows the plot of the original anime, and players get the opportunity to relive it as one of the playable characters. The story is split into four arcs with different missions and side quests. These storylines include the Saiyan Saga, the Freiza Saga, the Cell Saga, and the Buu Saga.

The characters available for players are Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Future Trunks, Gotenks, and Vegito. As players advance through the arcs, they will get the opportunity to unlock new playable characters.

Since its original release, the game has had multiple DLC announcements including bonus storylines based on the Battle of Gods and the Resurrection ‘F’. In 2021, a new storyline revolving around Future Trunks was announced, and more recently, the game revealed the fourth DLC titled Bardock: Alone Against Fate.

Who is Bardock in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot?

Bardock is a Saiyan warrior, the father of Goku. Bardock debuted in 1990 during a TV special titled Bardock – The Father of Goku. He is an experienced warrior from Universe 7 who enjoys fighting and is part of the Saiyan Army under the Frieza Force. Bardock eventually realizes that his leader is planning on destroying the Saiyan race and decided to send his son Kakarot to Earth.

Bardock: Alone Against Fate will follow the events of the TV special with scenes of life in Planet Vegeta. Players can interact with Bardock’s friends and explore areas in Planet Vegeta, like the Saiyan Settlements and the Frieza Army Base.

Is Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot free?

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is not free. The base version of the game sells for $59.99. A bundle with the DLC sells for an additional $9.99. Players can also buy 110 Platinum coins, the in-game currency, for $49.99.

On January 13, an enhanced version of the game will be released for PlayStation 5. Players who already own the PlayStation 4 version will receive it for free.

What does Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Ultimate Edition include?

The Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Ultimate Edition includes the game, Season Pass, Music Compilation Pack, and the Tao Pai Pai Pillar. It sells for $95 in the PlayStation Store.

The Nintendo Switch version includes the A New Power Awakens Set instead of the season pass and an additional item for cooking. It sells for $61.

What’s included in the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Switch Deluxe edition?

The Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Deluxe edition for Nintendo Switch includes the game, A New Power Awakens Set, and an item for cooking all for $58.
