Washington Justice will start OWL without LullSiSH due to visa
Washington Justice will start OWL without LullSiSH due to visa
The Washington Justice will be one player down when they start playing in the Overwatch League next weekend.
Their main tank, Lukas “LullSiSH” Wiklund, won’t be able to compete on February 15 thanks to some unfortunate visa issues. The Washington Justice announced the frustrating news on Twitter, referring to “extenuating circumstances” with the Swedish player’s visa.
“We’re continuing to work hand in hand with him, his agent, and our immigration attorneys to get him here as quickly as possible,” the team tweeted.
Fans sent their condolences to the team, clearly frustrated by his initial absence.
One fan pointed out that Washington Justice will have a lack of flexibility going into the Overwatch League’s new meta due to the absence of LullSiSH.
Another fan noted that this wasn’t even the first time LullSiSH had visa isues. During the OWL’s second season, Washington Justice signed LullSiSH and Elliot “ELLIVOTE” Vaneryd in July. Both Swedish tank players encountered issues with their visas so severe that they weren’t even able to play in 2019.
After playing for Team Sweden in 2019 Overwatch World Cup, Overwatch fans were initially excited to see what they’d do on the Blizzard Arena stage.
At the time of the
announcement last year, fans noted that while it was unfortunate that the duo couldn’t compete in the latter half of Season 2, though most assumed they would at least be prepared for 2020. Apparently, that isn’t going to be the case.
With LullSiSH not competing in the matches against Philadelphia Fusion and Houston Outlaws this upcoming weekend, Washington Justice might have main tank Gye “rOar” Chang-hoon take the stage. The South Korean pro played for the Los Angeles Gladiators last season, and now his Winston prowess could come in handy as the pros figure out which tanks are on top in the new meta.
