This isn’t the first time Walmart has featured esports apparel. Clicking on the online store’s Esports Fan Shop, which is under the category “Sports Fan Shop,” you can see merch from various games and clothing lines. There are currently more than 1,000 items.
This includes products Fanatic, who designed the Overwatch League apparel for Season 2. Along with jerseys and hoodies, Walmart is also selling Overwatch League team’s official pennants and pins.
The Esports Fan Shop also features an exclusive line of headbands by Fortnite fan-favorite Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. The “Official Game Play Headband of Ninja” features the streamer’s signature logo along with Red Bull’s.
Walmart, along with many other major companies, has been trying to work their way in to the growing esports industry space. Last year, Walmart teamed up with Esports Arena, planning five new locations for the esports facility operator within Walmart stores across the country.
Each location promises to have league nights during weekdays and also will fature weekend tournaments. The Esports Arena staff will also help Walmart customers who are shopping for gaming products.
