Virtus.pro signs another new player after veteran byali steps down

Virtus.pro has announced that Michal “OKOLICIOUZ” Glowaty will be joining its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster.

The Polish-German player has been a part of Virtus.pro as a stand-in before. This included taking on Izako Boars in the Polish Championship. Now, he is joining Virtus.pro for active competition in both ESEA MDL Season 31 Europe and Kalashnikov Cup Season 2.

Before coming back to Virtus.pro, OKOLICIOUZ has been playing for EURONICS since the end of 2018. During this time he spent his career in the German domestic CS:GO scene.

OKOLICIOUZ has been part of the pro Counter-Strike scene since 2014, when he joined LastHope.

Fan reaction to the move was mixed. OKOLICIOUSZ has shown himself to be a skilled player, but has little repute outside of the smaller competitions in which he has generally taken part. Some fans see Virtus.pro signing a relative unknown as another sign of the team’s long fall from the top of the game.

Virtus.pro stated on Twitter that new rifler OKOLICIOUZ will be replacing Pawel “byali” Bienlinski. byali had stepped down from the Polish team on Wednesday, claiming he couldn’t agree with “general principles for the team.” It was the latest in a series of departures for the former major championship squad.

The 25-year-old took to Instagram to tell his fans that “nothing bad happened during the bootcamp.” But the differences were enough for him to make the decision to leave “without creating any problems.”

byali had been with Virtus.Pro for five years. This run included several big wins with the Polish side, including the EMS Katowice 2014 Major and ELEAGUE Season 1, and many other triumphs.

OKOLICIOUZ is joining Michal “MICHU” Mullr, Michal “snatchie” Rudzki, Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski, Arek “Vegi” Nawojski, and coach Jakub “kuben” Gurchzynski.
