Leaks have seemingly revealed when Viktor’s Arcane-inspired VGU will arrive in League of Legends, and its release date is said to be surprisingly soon.
Arcane Season 2 has wrapped and fans can now look forward to elements of the show being folded into the game. Ahead of the show was the addition of Ambessa Medarda to the roster of champions and a Jinx skin pulled from the show being central to a new loot box system. Riot Games isn’t slowing down, though.
Thanks to data miner Big Bad Bear, players can check out the new look for Viktor, and circle a specific date on their calendar in anticipation of his release.
LEAKED Viktor VGU & Atakhan – Gameplay Video – League of Legends
Viktor’s VGU will reportedly hit League of Legends on December 11, 2024.
League of Leaks gave fans a look at the character, including what changes are set to arrive. They state that from a gameplay perspective, Viktor will be largely the same. The only change is that his ultimate will be buffed, with its AOE growing after each kill.
Aesthetically, the differences are night and day. The character is set to adopt some elements of the character shown in Arcane Season 2.
Rather than being a mad scientist, Viktor becomes a messianic figure who uses Hextech’s blend of magic and technology to cure peoples’ illnesses. This sees a cult pop up around him, albeit for just a short time.
Viktor’s VGU will see that general presentation pop up. Rather than swaggering through the lanes with a cane, Viktor will instead float with his arms outstretched and his hands turned up. The in-game champion will also adopt the slimmer frame of Viktor from Arcane. Viktor in the show never really changes his physique relative to his sickly self in the first season. By comparison, the original version of the champion is an absolute hulk.
Elements from the original character design will be retained, like the cane and the third robotic arm. However, the new look is much more closely aligned with the Arcane look for the character.
This change was met with mixed reactions from players, who lamented the loss of the original. Regardless, the time for grief is short with the release date for the Viktor VGU being so close.
