Veterans Ex6TenZ and ScreaM find new home in Team GamerLegion

Esports organization Team GamerLegion has entered the world of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

The brand announced the signing of the European team Uruguay3 on its website. The squad is headlined by veteran talents Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom and Kevin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans, alongside former OpTic Gaming player Kevin “HS” Tarn, former GODSENT captain Hampus “hampus” Poser, and coach Christian “Chrille” Lindberg.

The team previously competed with William “draken” Sundin, who recently split from the group in order to fill a substitute position for Ninjas in Pyjamas. Filling his spot on the roster is former X6tence Galaxy players Tim “nawwk” Jonasson.

“Our goals are clear: we want to become one of the leading organizations in the industry. And with the long-term commitment of these athletes, we are taking a huge step forward,” Nicolas Reber, CEO at Team GamerLegion, said.

The squad joins GamerLegion’s stable that includes teams in a number of other titles including League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Though GamerLegion is signing Uruguay3, the team joins with only a brief resume as a cohesive unit, having come together in February following Ex6TenZ’s split from G2 Esports and ScreaM’s departure from NoChance.

The bulk of the tape on Uruguay3 comes from its play in the ESEA Season 30: Premier Division for Europe, where it amassed a 10-7 record that included wins over a number of familiar opponents, most notably ENCE Esports. Its run in that season was hampered by a number of roster changes and the team washed out of the first round of the playoffs after being defeated by Epsilon Esports.

It has also unsuccessfully competed in qualifiers for a handful of events including DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 and Esports Championship Series Season 7.

The team will continue to compete in a crowded European field but could potentially become a contender if its blend of veteran savvy and young talent can come together. Look for it to appear in the qualifiers of various upcoming events.
