Sunset has officially entered the Valorant playlist, but when does it release?
Valorant’s latest map Sunset
is based in LA, and the art and themes are truly authentic. It’s starkly different from Lotus, which had an old-school, traditional aesthetic. Sunset, conversely, has real-life LA references, and players will be able to experience it all soon.
Here’s all we know about the upcoming Valorant map Sunset.
Sunset layout in Valorant
Unlike Ascent and Bind, Sunset doesn’t have any special gimmicks. It doesn’t have three sites or uber-complex splits like Fracture. However, Sunset does have an elaborate mid area, which would allow attackers to play around with their strategies.
Two small bomb bites are split with a mid area larger than both sides combined. The congested allies and sharp turns add ample choke points to spice up duels and bring back the Shorty and Judge meta. It may also convince Vandal users to switch over to Phantom due to many close-ranged battles.
Boxes and crates are placed everywhere, adding just the right amount of clutter, but it doesn’t shadow the LA theme. The unplayable area in Sunset is filled with carts and shops that are true to Los Angeles. Clothing racks, contemporary shops, trucks, and similar are scattered across the map, adding a fast city-life feel to the neon orange map.
The massive sunset blankets the entire map in an orange glow, which by itself is enough to confirm the location. Layout-wise and aesthetically, Sunset fits perfectly into the current Valorant map pool.
Valorant map Sunset release date
Influencers and pro players are currently testing Sunset and will soon enter the map pool with Valorant Episode 7 Act 1, which is slated to be released on August 29, 2023.
The new map Sunset will be released alongside the new gun bundle Imperium and a shiny new battle pass with unique skins and gun charms.
