In a surprising revelation, popular Twitch streamer Asmongold shared that he was contacted by the FBI earlier this year.
The inquiry was related to an incident involving fellow streamer Denims, who was accused of placing a $30,000 bounty on Asmongold.
The situation has raised questions among fans, as the issue was only recently brought to light.
During a recent livestream, Asmongold opened up about the unexpected contact he received from the FBI.
He explained that the authorities
reached out to him after rumors spread that Denims had placed a bounty on Asmongold. However, Asmongold chose not to press charges,
stating that the clip appeared to be a joke. After reviewing it himself,
he believed that Denims was not targeting him directly.
Despite the serious nature of the claim,
Asmongold decided it was not worth pursuing legal action.
This incident has left many viewers surprised, especially considering the severity of the accusation.
Denims and Twitch ban controversy
While the bounty on Asmongold allegation did not result in any direct ban for Denims at the time, she faced suspension from Twitch shortly after.
Her current ban,
reportedly for “hateful conduct,”
has sparked speculation among her followers.
The suspension was linked to an incident at a TwitchCon panel
where participants, including
Denims,
were accused of making antisemitic remarks.
Although Twitch has not disclosed specific details,
the ban is expected to last 30 days.
This marks the second suspension for Denims, with her first ban occurring in late 2023.
Twitch’s vague explanation of “hateful conduct” has left many viewers puzzled,
as the platform has a history of inconsistent moderation practices. However, Twitch recently promised to improve transparency in handling bans,
aiming to reduce confusion among both streamers and their audiences.
Asmongold returns to streaming
Asmongold with his recent experience regarding the bounty with the FBI was not the only issue he faced this year.In October, he was banned from Twitch for two weeks following controversial remarks about Palestinians.
The ban led him to step away from leadership roles at OTK, a content creation organization he co-founded.
Since his return, Asmongold has apologized to his viewers, acknowledging that his words were inappropriate and promising to be more mindful in the future.
Despite the challenges, Asmongold has resumed streaming, engaging with fans and sharing commentary on gaming updates and industry news.
His willingness to discuss the FBI contact openly has sparked further interest, showing once again how the world of online streaming can intersect with real-life legal matters.
The revelation of FBI involvement in a dispute between Twitch streamers highlights the unpredictable nature of the online entertainment industry. While Asmongold opted not to press charges for the bounty, the situation serves as a reminder of the seriousness of public accusations and the potential consequences. Both streamers have faced controversies this year, yet continue to attract large audiences.
This demonstrates the resilience and unpredictability of content creators on platforms like Twitch.
