With only two weeks left of the 2021 LCS Summer Split, every last game will be important in the fight for a spot in the top. Two of the teams that are in contention for the top spots are TSM and Evil Geniuses, and they will face off during the first day of the week.

The two top teams are looking for yet another win, and both have currently won two games in a row. This sets up the teams very evenly in momentum and also in the standings. TSM is currently sitting at two more wins this season.

On paper, this matchup is one of the closest in the league and both teams will have to bring their best game to take home the win. EG finished last week with a win over Dignitas after Golden Guardians lost its big winning streak.

Even though TSM has had some shaky games this split, the team still looks like a contender for the LCS title. After some big roster swaps moving into the year, TSM is starting to build a solid foundation with all of its players able to step up when it matters most. The rock of the team is still Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage in mid, but for every game the team plays, young bot laner Lawrence “Lost” Hui is improving his game.

This puts EG in a tough position when going up against TSM, but luckily the EG players are also starting to look consistent. The biggest problem for EG has been inconsistency, but with the addition of bot laner Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki, this is starting to turn. The only 17-year-old bot laner is sitting at the most kills out of any player in the league so far in his rookie split. This has given the whole EG squad a boost in performance, with veterans Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen and Jeong “Impact” Eon-young there to support the young gun.

EG still has a lot to work on, but is definitely looking like a team that could go all the way for the trophy. A top performance in the LCS and attendance at the 2021 World Championship will mean the world to the organization that hasn’t been able to achieve great restults since entering the LCS.

To keep the dream alive, EG cannot fall off during these last couple of weeks. A win against TSM would likely be enough of a confidence boost to keep these ongoing improvements intact.

TSM and Evil Geniuses are closer than ever before in LCS

So far this season, TSM and EG are even in their head-to-head record and are very close in the standings. Even though TSM has a few more overall wins, EG has performed just as well looking as this split alone. This makes for a close game where the win can go either way. Both squads are also entering the week with two recent wins, which just makes it that much harder to predict. This match will likely be decided by whoever gets the favorable draft and an early-game advantage. But from a betting standpoint, the safest pick will likely be TSM.

The odds will almost be as close as it gets with TSM in a slightly favored position with odds of 1.80, while a win for Evil Geniuses gives odds of 1.90

TSM and Evil Geniuses will enter Summoner’s Rift against each other on Friday, July 23.
