Team SoloMid is close to finalizing a deal with Evil Geniuses top laner Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon, according to Jacob Wolf.

The free agency window has officially opened and one of the first bombs to be dropped is involves two of the biggest brands in the LCS. The North American org is looking to cleanse its palate after flopping in the 2020 World Championship with a splashy signing.

As reported on the show: @TSM are finalizing a buyout agreement with @EvilGeniuses for top laner @Huni, sources told me.

Huni will replace Broken Blade as the top laner of the dynastic North American franchise.

Huni has been a fan favorite in the LCS ever since joining Immortals in 2015. Huni made his name on Fnatic, winning two EU LCS splits and going to the semifinals of Worlds 2015. Since then, Huni has played for teams such as SK Telecom T1, Echo Fox, Clutch Gaming, and Dignitas. He’ll now look to join one of the most popular LoL organizations in TSM.

Huni will be replacing Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik, who had many ups and downs throughout 2020. BrokenBlade joined TSM back in November 2018, coming directly from the Turkish team Royal Youth. BrokenBlade won his first and only LCS trophy with TSM in the 2020 LCS Summer Split but didn’t perform on the Worlds stage a few weeks after lifting the trophy.

Is Huni the right choice for TSM for the 2021 LCS season?

Huni is known as an aggressive and individually skilled player, which he has showed with both SKT and Fnatic. Despite his clear individual skill, Huni has struggled to find his form in recent years and, therefore, is a bit of a question mark for many fans and experts.

Huni could end up being the right choice for TSM, but that isn’t guaranteed. TSM played around the top lane in 2020 and that puts a lot of pressure on Huni to perform. That could be the right situation for him to shine, but only time will tell if he’s the right fit.

Huni will likely play alongside jungler Mingyi “Spica” Lu, bot laner Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, and rumored mid laner Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage. TSM’s support is still unknown.

More news about TSM will likely follow very soon.
