Team SoloMid announced former Echo Fox Academy coach Peter Zang as the new head coach for the TSM Academy squad.

The Chinese coach is no stranger to the NA LCS, as he worked for Team Liquid as a coach back in 2015, and now he’s is looking to help take TSM back to its former glory.

Zang started his career as a coach with LMQ, a Chinese team since disbanded. After a brief stay with Team Liquid, he won NA LCS’ coach of the split award in the summer of 2015. He moved to Brazil later that year, where we worked with KaBuM! e-Sports.

Zang took time off and returned to the NA LCS in 2017 when he guided Echo Fox and later Echo Fox Academy. The academy team finished the 2018 spring split in second place under Zang’s stewardship. The team couldn’t repeat the feat in the summer after making numerous roster changes.

The coach is now taking over TSM Academy, a squad that failed to qualify for playoffs in 2018. The team finished the spring split in sixth place and the summer split in seventh. The developmental side is currently going through roster changes, and so far only top laner Kostyantyn “PieCakeLord” Dudarchuk and mid laner Nicholas “Ablazeolive” Antonio Abbott are confirmed for the team.

Regarding the new hire, TSM wrote on its website: “We’re very fortunate to have yet another talented and experienced coach on our support staff, and we are looking forward to working with him in the upcoming season. Please join us in welcoming him to the TSM family!”
