Treatz reportedly leaving TSM, heading to LEC with SK Gaming

Team SoloMid support Erik “Treatz” Wessén is reportedly returning to Europe after an extended stay in North America. He will be welcomed home with a contract from SK Gaming.

Treatz made a name for himself on TSM Academy, winning the 2019 NA Academy Spring Split ahead of his LCS debut in 2020. The Swedish support got promoted to the TSM LCS roster in the 2020 LCS Summer Split to split time with veteran Vincent “Biofrost” Wang. The Swede got to play eight games in the LCS before Biofrost once again took over the starting support spot for TSM in the 2020 LCS Summer Split playoffs. TSM went on to win the split and qualified for the 2020 World Championship as the LCS’ first seed.

Treatz ???????? will be SK’s Support next year

Even though Treatz was a big part of TSM’s success in the summer split, his great mechanics and vocal personality in-game weren’t enough for him to get playtime at Worlds. Biofrost started every game in Shanghai, where TSM washed out of the group stage with a disappointing 0-6 record

Given how much time TSM has dedicated to developing Treatz, the organization is left without a confirmed support for the Academy team. TSM is also likely to drop Biofrost from the LCS roster, so he might be a candidate in Academy unless he packs his bags. Who TSM will be fielding in the support position next year is still unknown, but rumors say that TSM is looking towards Korea and China for a high-profile free agent.

Treatz to leave TSM for SK Gaming for 2021 season

It was expected by many that Treatz would be picked up by a top team for the 2021 season, it was only a matter of what team. According to Jacob Wolf, SK Gaming added him and will host his LEC debut in 2021.

Treatz will be replacing Dino “LIMIT” Tot who underwhelmed during the 2020 season. LIMIT and the rest of SK finished the 2020 LEC Spring Split in ninth place but managed to get a bit of redemption in summer where they landed in sixth.

Even though LIMIT didn’t impress in 2020, he is still likely to join FC Schalke 04 for the upcoming season.

SK Gaming is still yet to return to its heyday since getting a spot in Europe’s top LoL league. The organization will look to change that in 2021 with a major overhaul of its roster.

According to reports, SK will add former Team LDLC jungler Kristian “TynX” Hansen, talented Turkish mid laner Ersin “Blue” Gören, and Jean “Jezu” Massol to join Treatz down in the bot lane. This SK roster will be full of young talent and has the potential to make noise in the upcoming season.

SK Gaming is likely to announce its whole LEC roster in the upcoming days.
