Top talents revealed for Dota 2's WePlay! Bukovel Minor

WePlay! has revealed the list of broadcast talent for January’s WePlay! Bukovel Minor, and it’s a strong one.

The tournament organizer revealed the list of hosts, casters, and analysts for the event, and there are few surprises for Dota 2 fans as the event is largely comprised of familiar names. The Bukovel Minor will bring together some of the most recognizable broadcast talent in the game, as well as some of WePlay!’s go-to on-air talent.

The list of hosts includes Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden, Rich Campbell, and Roberto “Rob” Gonzales.

Sheever has been a staple of the Dota 2 scene for years now, working a number of majors as well as every installment of The International since 2014. She has been incredibly active in Dota Pro Circuit tournaments since 2018 and is evidently looking to continue that into 2020.

Rich Campbell is primarily known for his work in Call of Duty esports, but he began working as a desk and stage host in Dota 2 earlier this year with the Chongqing Major. He appeared at The International 2019 and seems poised to become a steady presence in the game going forward.

Rob isn’t as well-known as Sheever or Campbell, but he has worked on other WePlay! Events in the past. He served as a host for the WePlay! Valentine Madness league and also worked WePlay’s second Artifact event, the Mighty Triad: Agility.

WePlay! Bukovel Minor casters, analysts

WePlay! is also bringing in a slew of top names to work as casters and analysts for the event. TobiWan, Capitalist, ODPixel, and Lacoste likely need no introduction for fans as each has worked at a number of majors or other notable live Dota 2 events.

LizZard continues to become a steady presence in top Dota 2 events. The former pro player made the jump into casting at the start of the 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit season. This seemed to agree with him, as he worked four majors in 2019.

Swindlemelonzz, who sometimes goes only by his first name Kyle during broadcasts, will return to casting Dota Pro Circuit events after missing out on the first major cycle of the 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit season. BSJ also seems poised for a big season as he quickly turns around after the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore for this minor.

Notably, syndereN returns to casting for the first time since The International 2019. The veteran competed with Sir Sadim’s Stunners during Midas Mode 2.0, but hasn’t actually worked a microphone since serving as an analyst at TI9.

The WePlay! Bukovel Minor kicks off on January 9, 2020.
