Team Liquid’s bot laner Edward “Tactical” Ra has continued to prove himself throughout the 2020 LCS Summer Split.

Despite his performance helping Team Liquid complete their redemption arc and quality for Worlds, the rookie is still as humble as ever. WIN.gg spoke with Tactical about the importance of making it to the League of Legends World Championship as their LCS playoffs match against TSM looms ahead.

What does it mean to you qualifying for Worlds as a new player to the LCS?

Tactical: It’s very important for me. It’s my first split, so it’s really insane that I get to go to Worlds. I get to have a chance to showcase my skill at an international event and see how I do against others.

What do you think Team Liquid’s biggest challenge will be facing teams from Europe, Korea, and China?

I think teams in other regions have been playing a slightly faster play style than us.

Do you think you will practice a different style once you’re in China?

It depends on how the Worlds patch ends up being and how successful our play style currently is. It depends on our matchups and how the other teams will do as well.

Aside from having a different playstyle, do you think Team Liquid is as skilled and able to win Worlds as teams from other regions?

It’s hard to say for me at least, personally. When I do watch other regions, I am not sure how good they might be per se. It comes down to how the matches will end up being. For now, I can’t tell.

Are there any teams you’re excited to play against?

I’m excited about every team, essentially. I guess LPL and LCK teams the most. They’re the most dominant right now. It just seems really fun to play versus them. They have the best players around the world in every role.

How are you feeling about travel right now?

I’m fine with it as long as we take safety precautions. Wear a mask, quarantining. As long as we are not intentionally putting ourselves in danger. So far we have taken tests. We’re making sure everything is okay before we leave.

Are you excited to travel? Is this something you miss doing?

I haven’t traveled a lot in my life. This is also a kind of new experience, too. And these will be long flights as well. I’m not looking forward to that part.

What has been your favorite part of playing with TL this Split?

It feels like I get to play the way I’ve always wanted to. I feel connected with everyone on the team, including the coaching staff.

What is Team Liquid’s biggest strength going into Worlds?

Everyone is pretty solid mechanically. Our team fighting is one of our better strengths, and our laning phase.

Is there anything you’d like to say to fans who have been supporting you throughout this journey?

I would like to say thank you for following me throughout the split even though I haven’t done too many crazy things throughout this season. I’ve been kinda just doing my job. I will try my best to show up at Worlds.
