Gaming is a fantastic industry because it has something for everyone to enjoy. Celebrities are no exception, and some household-name actors love winding down with a gaming session. Of course, their tastes vary as much as casual gamers, with some preferring hardcore first-person shooters and others opting for casual simulators.

Either way, it’s safe to say that gaming is a popular hobby among the social elite. Here are five celebrities that you probably know who love relaxing with video games.

This list focuses on celebrities that play video games, so stars like the NetBet player Matt Damon won’t be here. However, plenty of celebrities also love a good round of poker.

Henry Cavill

Number one on this list has to be the crowned gamer king himself, Henry Cavill. The established actor often takes on acting roles for characters in his favorite games. His most well-known role in gaming adaptions is Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix version of The Witcher.

Henry Cavill Superman

Cavill is also heavily interested in the lore of several series, such as The Witcher and Warhammer 40,000. Staying true to his favorite characters has earned him a lot of clout in the gaming community. According to one interview in 2016, he almost missed a casting call for Superman due to playing World of Warcraft when his agent reported the news.

Vin Diesel

The family man himself has been a well-known nerd for a while now, and his latest favorite game is Ark: Survival Evolved. Diesel is now set to play the leading role of Santiago in Ark 2, who is already a fan-favorite character within the Ark fandom.

However, he is not limited to just Ark. Vin Diesel has also said that he loves Dungeons and Dragons, World of Warcraft, and The Chronicles of Riddick, which he starred in the movie adaptation for. His wide range and commitment make him one of the most well-known celebrities in gaming.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

You won’t be surprised that Dwayne Johnson loves fighting games. The ex-WWE star enjoys giving a good beatdown in various games, and he’s previously expressed his love for traditional fighters like Mortal Kombat.

However, he has stated his favorite game is Madden ’93. An outdated sports game is an odd pick for the wrestler-turned-actor, but few would dare to question it.

Tom Holland

The newest entry to the Spiderman pantheon, Tom Holland has mentioned his love for gaming a few times in public statements. He’s specifically talked about his love for the cinematic Uncharted series. This made him the best choice for the new Uncharted movie as the main character Nathan Drake. Holland likely geeked out over learning he scored the role.

Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson is known for playing intimidating characters that are always in control, so fans may be surprised to learn the deadly serious actor enjoys kicking back with video games. In interviews, Jackson has said that he greatly enjoys action games, especially the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

Samuel L. Jackson Nick Fury

He also plays the Lego Star Wars games, where he probably enjoys playing as his own character Mace Windu. He also plays Call of Duty, meaning that he could show up in one of your multiplayer lobbies someday.
