For the Mid-Season Showdown, all pre-tournament favorites are represented including a bit of a surprise in Dignitas. The bracket is set and will start this coming weekend, so let’s take a look at what lies ahead.

These are the 2021 LCS Mid-Season Showdown participants

After weeks of best-of-one games, the six best LCS teams will now clash in a double-elimination bracket where all matches will be best-of-five. The four best teams from the regular split will start in the upper bracket, while the fifth and sixth seed have to fight their way through the lower bracket.

These are the 2021 LCS Mid-Season Showdown teams:

Winning in the lower bracket will be crucial, as a loss will spell game over for any team. Before the lower bracket can begin, the two opening matches of the upper bracket will have to be played out first. The two losers in the upper-bracket games will fall into the lower bracket, where the grind for a comeback begins.

Just a few months ago in the 2020 LCS Summer Split playoffs, TSM managed to grind its way through the lower bracket and advance all the way to win the final. This miracle run proves that even a lower-bracket team can go all the way, which makes it that much more exciting.

What is the 2021 LCS Mid-Season Showdown schedule?

The first round of games in the Mid-Season Showdown will be between the four best teams from the regular season. The tournament will start off with a match between the two rivals TSM and Team Liquid. The teams have already played twice throughout the regular split, where TSM won both matches.

Cloud9 will then take on 100 Thieves, a team that has showcased great play throughout the split. With that said, Cloud9 is entering the bracket as the first seed for a reason as mid laner Luka “Perkz” Perković hunts his first LCS trophy.

When the dust has settled from the first round of the upper bracket, the first round of the lower bracket will begin. This is where Dignitas and Evil Geniuses will enter the tournament.
