The Ultimate Tarkov Healing Guide (2024)

Surviving in Escape from Tarkov is about understanding its health system. Unlike other shooters, Tarkov doesn’t offer a simple, universal health bar. Each body part—head, thorax, arms, legs, and stomach—operates independently, with its own damage threshold and healing requirements. A single bullet can critically wound a specific area.

Different injuries demand specific medical treatments. With this Tarkov Healing Guide, you’ll understand the different types of injuries and how to heal them. Plus, by following Stealth Core tips and tricks, you will always stay one step ahead of your opponents and dominate every single raid.

Body Parts

Your character’s health system is separated between body parts, each with its own health points and critical functionality. Out of a total of 440 health points, these points are meticulously distributed across different body regions.

The health status can be tracked through the “Health” tab in your stash or during raids, revealing the condition of each body part. When a body part is injured, you can address it using basic medical kits like the AI-2 or IFAK. However, if a body part reaches zero health points during a raid, it becomes “blacked out” – a critical state with severe consequences.

Two body parts are considered vital: the head and thorax. When these reach zero health points, any additional damage results in character death. The head, with only 35 HP, is particularly vulnerable – a 36-point damage from a bullet means instant elimination. The thorax, holding 85 HP, follows a similar principle, with one notable exception: bleeds can continue even after reaching zero health.

Although there are some Escape From Tarkov cheats that use Aimbot to shoot these vital parts, this is against the game’s terms of service, and any use of 3rd party tools will result in a permanent ban

Other body parts have unique impacts when damaged. The stomach, with 70 HP, triggers rapid dehydration and starvation when depleted. Arms, each containing 60 HP, suffer from fractured or zero-health conditions by causing weapon handling difficulties – slower aiming, weapon switching, reloading, and introducing weapon tremors. Legs, holding 65 HP, dramatically reduce movement speed and create a noticeable limping effect when damaged.

When a body part reaches zero, the damage gets redistributed to other body parts at varying multiplication rates, creating a cascading health risk that requires careful medical intervention. The only method to fully restore a blacked-out limb is through the use of a surgery kit.

How to Heal in Tarkov

Thankfully, healing in Tarkov is straightforward. With medical items in your inventory, you have multiple healing methods. Right-clicking a medical item and selecting “USE” automatically targets the most critical body part, prioritizing severe injuries like heavy bleedings. You can also use the “Heal All” button in your stash.

Also, you can drag specific medical items directly onto the body part requiring treatment. This method allows targeted healing when you want to address a particular injury or preserve certain medical supplies for more critical moments.

How to Stop Heavy Bleeding?

Heavy bleeding is a life-threatening condition. When afflicted, your character leaves a trail of blood and suffers rapid health loss across all body parts. Standard medical kits won’t cut it – heavy bleeding demands specialized treatment.

Two items effectively stop heavy bleeding: the CAT Tourniquet and the Grizzly medkit. Identifying and treating heavy bleeding quickly is crucial. Your survival depends on having the right medical supplies and using them decisively before blood loss becomes fatal.

Final Words

To sum up, Understanding body part mechanics, healing techniques, and managing bleeding can transform your survival chances from desperate to dominant. Every medkit, tourniquet, and healing action is a calculated decision that separates experienced operators from novice players.

The complexity of Tarkov’s health system demands constant learning and adaptation. By internalizing these strategies, you’ll not only survive more raids but also develop the tactical medical awareness that sets top players apart. Your knowledge becomes your most powerful weapon, keeping you in the fight when others would have fallen.
