Virtual reality is hardly a new idea, but it was given new impetus by the launch of the Oculus Rift in 2012 and a subsequent investment from Facebook.

VR headsets are becoming more advanced, lighter, and cheaper, and many industry sectors have taken up the concept. In fact, gamers have been at the cutting edge when it comes to VR for over a decade, and the gaming industry is increasingly focusing on this area.

VR technology offers huge potential across the entertainment sector, including virtual cooperative sports events and virtual concerts, while casino gaming fans finding the latest casinos will soon be able to play at virtual casinos. The game requires you to join forces with other investigators to explore various spooky locations, and the VR immerses you in the game world impressively, particularly if you have your microphone on. Elite Dangerous

One of the most popular space games of all time, Elite Dangerous VR takes the play to a new level. The fixed camera position drastically reduces motion sickness, and Frontier is one of the most successful game developers when it comes to crafting a VR experience. There’s so much to explore, and space flight never felt so real. There is some strong competition in this VR genre, most notably from Star Wars squadrons, but Elite Dangerous edges out its rivals.
