The upper bracket kicks off with a trio of North America vs. Europe matches in OpTic Gaming vs. Team Liquid, VGJ.Storm vs. OG, and Evil Geniuses vs. Team Secret. The fourth is an compelling tilt between two of the favorites to win TI8, Virtus Pro and PSG LGD.

Outside those matches, Fnatic plays Team Serenity and Newbee will go against Winstrike.

Invictus Gaming and PaiN Gaming were both eliminated from the tournament after finishing their groups in last place.
