Dota 2 is full of amazing voice acting, but sometimes celebrity guests step in to provide a little something extra.

122 Dota 2 heroes means an absolute ton of voice acting. The massive pool of talent helps bring the game to life and make every voice line memorable. Certain Dota 2 heroes or voice packs even get special treatment with celebrity guest voice actors.

There are many instances in the game, but these three voice acting roles take the cake as the coolest voices in all of Dota 2.

Samoa Joe guest voices the Juggernaut Arcana in Dota 2

Starting our list of guest voice actors in Dota 2 is a star from the wrestling world. Nuufolau Joel Seanoa, better known by his stage name Samoa Joe, guest stars as the voice actor for Juggernaut’s Bladeform Legacy arcana.

The Call of the Bladeform Legacy includes over 400 unique voice lines spruced up for the samurai’s ultimate form. The Dota 2 credits even include a special thank you to Samoa Joe for his work as a celebrity guest voice actor.

In Juggernaut’s arcana lore, the swordsman’s mask splits open to reveal the forgotten souls of his people. He becomes the living embodiment of the Isle of Masks. His already-gritty voice gets turned up to 11, sounding more like a legion of swordsmen than a solitary warrior. Samoa Joe did an excellent job of terrifying his opponents in the ring, so his legacy lives on as a guest voice actor in Dota 2.

Ashly Burch steps in to voice Dark Willow

Longtime gaming fans have heard Ashly Burch dozens of times over the years. From iconic supporting roles as Tiny Tina in Borderlands 2 to star Aloy in Horizon: Zero Dawn, Burch’s voice has brought life to dozens of gaming icons. While now known for her stellar voice acting, Ashly Burch first rose to prominence on the online gaming show Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin’? starting in 2008.

With the Dueling Fates update, Valve brought in the celebrity guest to voice act new hero Dark Willow.

Dark Willow is one of the chattiest characters in all of Dota 2. She has an absolute ton of voice lines that show her mischievous and rude nature. These include 229 unique responses for meeting with certain enemy heroes. Ashly Burch definitely had put a ton of time in the booth to record all those lines, and Dark Willow’s Scottish accent and abrasive personality make each one fun to hear.

Dragon’s Blood anime voice actors reprise roles in-game

The celebrity voice actors from the Dota 2 anime guest star in the game itself as exclusive personas. Yuri Lowenthal and Lara Pulver both reprise their roles as Davion of Dragon Hold and Mirana of Nightsilver from Dragon’s Blood. The in-game Dragon’s Blood personas remodel the heroes based on their anime appearance, so it only makes sense to include the original actors.

Outside of Dragon’s Blood, Yuri Lowenthal is best known for providing the English voices of Sasuke Uchiha in Naruto and Spiderman in multiple spin-offs. Lowenthal also voices multiple characters in rival MOBA anime Arcane.

Lara Pulver does a fantastic job bringing Mirana’s haughtiness to life, a trait that Irene Adler from Sherlock also displayed. She’s also an award-winning stage actress, taking home the 2016 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical.
