The upcoming League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) is fast approaching, and there’s a new system in place for Worlds qualification. Here are some of the best teams and individual players to keep an eye out for.

What is the 2024 Mid-Season LoL Invitational?

The 2024 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) is Riot Games’ first major international esports LAN competition involving the award-winning video game League of Legends (LoL).

The competitive format has been modified a bit, and it will be tested this year for the first time at the MSI.

The event is scheduled to take place between May 1 and 19 in Chengdu, China. The winner of this event will gain automatic entry into the Worlds (League of Legends World Championship), plus an extra slot for their region.

The runner-up of this event will also be awarded a guaranteed spot at the Worlds finals. The League of Legends MSI is the biggest event on the esports calendar and will conclude the regional LoL circuits.

The current reigning champions, JD Gaming, will be one team to watch because they will be looking to defend their title, and some of the hottest players tipped for success this year are the following:

  1. Player: Faker. Team: T1
  2. Player: Ruler. Team: JDG Gaming
  3. Player: Knight. Team: BLG
  4. Player: Keria. Team: T1

Is it possible to bet on professional esports competitions in 2024?

Yes. It’s now possible to bet on today’s biggest esports competitions in real-time on numerous fully licensed and regulated iGaming sites like the ones currently featured on the globally renowned ReadWrite.com iGaming review site.

What games and events can I bet on?

Apart from League of Legends (LoL), some of the most popular video games commonly played in today’s biggest events are Call of Duty: Warzone, PUBG: Battlegrounds (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), Overwatch, Valorant, Dota 2, and Fortnite.

Other major events include games like Rocket League, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO), EAFC24, World of Warcraft, NBA 2K, Minecraft, Starcraft, and Starcraft 2.

The most popular esports competitions for which you can often find markets are the Honor of Kings International, the BLAST Premier League, the Fortnite World Cup, and Dota 2: The International.

That’s not forgetting the Wild Rift League, the Call of Duty League Championship, the Intel Extreme Masters, VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai, DreamLeague Season 23, and various others.

iGaming sites with the most competitive esports betting odds

It all depends on where you live. For example, if you are looking to bet on any upcoming esports events in 2024 and you live in the United States, some of the top sites are ESPN Bet, Fanatics, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Bet365 to name a few.

You must be at least 18 to register an account with any of these top-rated online bookmakers, and you can open a new account in under a minute. Each site has been carefully handpicked and expertly reviewed by a dedicated team of researchers.

Before placing sports bets on upcoming esports events, remember to research the teams and try to understand what the odds and implied probability rates are trying to tell you.

Avoid placing too many silly bets on the underdog by placing more strategic bets with better odds and a higher implied probability rate.
