Texas Chainsaw Massacre is raising eyebrows and adrenaline levels since its release, but what price do gamers need to pay to get in on the fun?
Asymmetrical horror games are a sleeping giant in the gaming world. While the genre has mostly been held down by Dead by Daylight, other developers are swooping in with iconic IPs to grab a piece of the pie.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the latest example, and the game has launched to commercial and critical success. Despite its impressive performance, the game is surprisingly cheaper than most other big releases.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre game is $40 on all platforms with one small DLC bundle to purchase for $7.
There are no special editions of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, though the game is currently offering a free bundle of chainsaw cosmetics to celebrate its release. This pack, simply called Chainsaw Skin Variants, grants three cosmetics for the titular chainsaw weapon.
The Pristine, Stickers, and Rusty variants all have the exact same stats in-game and have no effect on gameplay besides visuals.
However, for players who want to drop a little extra dosh, developer Gun Media is offering a paid DLC pack of special execution animations for Leatherface, The Cook, The Hitchhiker, Sissy, and Johnny.
Each killer gets a new animation for the player to equip and perform in-game. This pack costs $7 on all platforms from PlayStation 5 to Xbox Series to PC.
