Team Secret’s Dota 2 team will see changes for the new Dota Pro Circuit season.
After 10 days of teasing potential new arrivals, the new lineup was revealed on Secret”s website.
Yazied “YapzOr” Jaradat, Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng and Clement “Puppey” Ivanov will be returning to Secret. Meanwhile, Ludwig “Zai” Wahlberg will join from OpTic Gaming and transitioning back to the offlane role, replacing the departing Adrian “Fata” Trinks. Finally, Michal “Nisha” Jankowski joins from Let’s Do It to take on the carry duties left vacant by Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard’s departure.
Secret enjoyed a successful season in 2018. Though it tapered off following a hot start that included first-place finishes at the DreamLeague Major, DreamLeague Minor, and Captains Draft 4.0, it rallied in the spring and managed to post a respectable sixth-place finish at The International 2018.
Though the team would have likely entered the new season as one of the best in Europe, news broke last week that Ace and Fata had left Secret behind to join a new stack led by former Evil Geniuses and OpTic Gaming captain Peter “ppd” Dager. Though Zai and Nisha are strong players, there are questions as to how they will fit in with Secret.
Answers will soon come as the Kuala Lumpur Major qualifiers will pit Secret against a who’s who of European Dota ranging from established elites like Team Liquid to returning names like Alliance.
