Team Liquid star Jensen gets kill number 1,000 in LCS play

Team Liquid mid laner Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen earned his 1,000th LCS kill during Liquid’s victory over Clutch Gaming.

This is a career milestone for pro League of Legends players, and Liquid didn’t waste any time letting the esports organization’s Twitter followers know what their newest player had accomplished. For Jensen, it was a reminder of how long he’s been playing League of Legends competitively.

“I’m getting old,” Jensen said.

Jensen joined Team Liquid after leaving Cloud9, his former team of four years. It was a move that surprised League fans, especially after Team Liquid’s disappointing Worlds performance. Meanwhile, C9 had made it to the semifinals of the same tournament after upsetting Afreeca Freecs with a 3-0 sweep in the quaterfinals. This was the first time since the first World Championship that a North American team had made it to the top four.

Still, Jensen told fans that this change was his best chance at achieving his goal of becoming the very best version of himself and winning a world championship.

Known as one of North America’s best mid laners, it seems that the only way to become even better for Jensen is holding up the 2019 World Championship trophy.

This goal might not be too much of a stretch for Team Liquid. The North American squad is already qualified to the playoffs of the LCS Spring Split with a 14-2 record. While the team did lose a bet with LCS host James “Dash” Patterson, its 88 percent win-rate has proven that the new roster has made Team Liquid the unequivical team to beat.

Jensen has been having a great individual season as well, earning the highest KDA in the entire league with an impressive 13.8. Teammate Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng and former teammate Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi are the only pros with more LCS kills today.

Team Liquid’s current roster includes Jensen, Doublelift, Jake “Xmithie” Puchero, Jo “CoreJJ” Young-in, and Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong.
