Team Liquid’s winning streak at the Mid-Season Invitational continued with a convincing victory against Flash Wolves.

TL is keeping North America’s hopes alive as the team secured its first win at the MSI main event. The LMS representative didn’t stand a chance against an organized and focused Team Liquid.

TL went for a standard strategy enabling Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng to get ahead while top laner Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong absorbed pressure from Flash Wolves.

TL secured first blood and an infernal drake after a successful gank bot from Jake “Xmithie” Puchero. This play would set the tone for the rest of the game. Xmithie was assertive with his ganks on Trundle, threatening FW and giving total control of the map to Liquid.

Impact played his part perfectly and allowed the rest of the team to make plays elsewhere. TL went for outer turrets and drakes with confidence. Flash Wolves tried unsuccessfully to contest and Team Liquid immediately took advantage.

At 25 minutes and with a 7K gold advantage, TL secured the baron buff and marched on towards the enemy base.

Desperate, jungler Lee “Bugi” Seong-yeop went for an all-in with Nocturne under a mid lane turret. The rest of the team tried to back him up only to end up dying. With four enemies out of the game, TL secured its first win of the day to continue undefeated at MSI.

In the second game of the day, TL will face Vietnam’s representative Phong Vu Buffalo in a rematch of the Play-In stage knockout round. Flash Wolves will play against SK Telecom T1, as both teams are trying to get a win to avoid ending the day 0-2.
