T1 vs. DWG Kia: 2021 LCK Spring Split betting analysis
T1 vs. DWG Kia: 2021 LCK Spring Split betting analysis
Current world champion DWG Kia will make its debut in the 2021 LCK Spring Split against T1 on January 15.
T1 started the season on a high note with a win over Hanwha Life Esports. T1 achieve this victory using a roster made up largely of rookies, a decision that took fans by surprise. Despite how young and inexperienced these players might be, they put on a show for an audience that couldn’t help but support the decision to start them.
While T1 is betting on its young players, DWG Kia is going for the same formula as last year but with a new addition to the roster. During the 2020 KeSPA Cup, DWG Kia demolished the competition and only dropped one game in the entire event. In the end, DWG Kia walked away with another trophy.
It’d be easy to predict DWG Kia as the next LCK champion and the top team to watch in 2021. However, winning the KeSPA Cup is not always the best omen. In the past, teams that succeeded in the KeSPA Cup ended up having a worse spring season. Perhaps DWG Kia is the team that breaks the curse and 2021 will be a smooth ride for the organization.
Against DWG Kia, all roles matter. The current world champion is not a team that plays through a specific lane or a particular style. On the contrary, DWG Kia is a chameleon that can adapt to the opponent, make it extremely difficult to counter.
If T1 wants to play through top, DWG Kia can play through top. Somehow, this team manages to react to the opponent and turn the enemy’s plays into its own. T1’s rookies will go through a trial by fire on January 15 when they’ll face DWG Kia.
T1 vs. DWG Kia rosters:
T1:
- Top – Kim “Canna” Chang-dong
- Jungle – Choi “Ellim” El-lim
- Mid – Lee “Clozer” Ju-hyeon
- Bot – Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong
- Support – Ryu “Keria” Min-seok
T1 might make roster changes on the day of the match.
DWG Kia:
- Top – Kim “Khan” Dong-ha
- Jungle – Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu
- Mid – Heo “ShowMaker” Su
- Bot – Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun
- Support – Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee
DWG Kia favorite to take the series over T1
The T1 rookies might have had a great performance against Hanwha, but they’re not current world champions. The difference in experience and DWG’s fine showing during the KeSPA Cup puts DWG as the likely winner of the series with at 1.22. T1 will look to achieve what feels like the impossible with odds of 3.83.
