A date for Super Nintendo World’s opening in Universal Studios Hollywood has been announced.
Universal is known for its Jurassic Park, Transformers, and other blockbuster-themed areas and rides. But Nintendo fans have been anxiously awaiting the addition of Super Nintendo World, which was announced years ago after Japan’s Universal opened its own.
Now, it’s finally coming stateside on
February 17, 2023.
Super Nintendo World will immerse fans into Mario’s universe with pipes, piranha plants, stars, and blocks all over. Guests will even have to walk through a green pipe to get there! Just like the
Super Nintendo World in Japan, people will be able to purchase bracelets that let them interact with other things throughout the land.
The main attraction will be Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, an augmented reality experience that’s the first of its kind in the United States. Attendees will wear visors and interact with virtual items during the ride as they race popular Nintendo characters.
Popular Mario characters will also be present, including Peach, Mario, and Luigi. There will also be a restaurant run by Toads called Toadstool Café. The 1-Up Factory will have plenty of Mario merch, including plush, clothing, and exclusive souvenirs.
Super Nintendo World is part of Universal Studios Hollywood, which means a ticket to Universal will automatically give attendees access to Super Nintendo World as well.
General admission for one day at Universal ranges from $109 to $139, depending on the day you go. Weekends and other popular times, like holiday breaks, are more money.
