Summer Splash hits Fortnite with fresh skins and LTMs
Fortnite has announced a new summer-long event titled “Summer Splash,” which will run throughout the rest of Season 3 and will bring new cosmetics and LTMs to the game.
Fortnite held a similar event in 2019, “14 Days Of Summer,” which brought new challenges to unlock cosmetics. This produced the famous “Deep End” emote. The event also saw new summer skins such as Summer Drift and Beach Bomber. The same types of challenges for new cosmetics will be happening during Summer Splash, which will bring at least eight new skins to the game as well as the return of Summer Drift and Beach Bomber.
Summer vibes
In a recent
blog post, Epic announced the Summer Splash event and detailed what players can expect when the event launches in the coming weeks.
“From now until the end of Season 3, drop into a rotation of classic LTMs along with some new ones. There are also new and favorite Item Shop Outfits arriving,” developers said.
The Summer Splash event will see new rewards and challenges to unlock cosmetics, brand new skins, as well as LTMs to play along with some classics modes. The One Shot & Solid Gold LTM has already returned in the run-up to the official start of the event.
Fun in the sun
Throughout the Summer Splash event, many LTMs have been confirmed to return including Fog Of War, Close Encounters, Unvaulted, and Catch. There will also be a summer-themed revamp of LTMs.
Brand new LTMs to play will include “new takes on Operation: Knockout, a reel ’em in royale, and a game of elimination-powered upgrades.”
There are many possibilities as to what these new LTMs could be. With the addition of fishing in Chapter 2 and Sharks recently being added in Season 3, “reel ’em in” could mean an LTM centered around fishing, or even racing, involving the newly added sharks.

Summer splash cosmetics
Summer Splash will see a minimum of eight new skins added to the game during the event. Two have already been released. Those are Starflare and Surf Witch.
Dad Bod Jonesy, Bryce 3000, Cozy Chomps, Comfy Chomps, Lada, and Par Patroller are all confirmed to be part of the event. Summer Drift and Beach Bomber will also be making a return to the Item Shop during the event, having last been seen in 2019 during 14 Days Of Summer.
