Street Fighter 6 release date update, demo coming at Evo 2022
In a double whammy of news, a Street Fighter 6 demo has been confirmed for Evo 2022 and new details have emerged on the game’s release date.
Street Fighter 6 was
first revealed
in February, instantly becoming one of the most highly anticipated fighting games in the scene. Since then, there have been some
teaser trailers
and leaks to keep the community intrigued, but Street Fighter 6 has largely been a mystery to the FGC.
Now, Street Fighter fans will have the chance to play Street Fighter 6 before its official launch but only at Evo, the biggest fighting game tournament of the year.
How can I play Street Fighter 6?
An official press release announced that Street Fighter 6 will have its hands-on premier at Evo, which takes place on August 5-7 in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. According to the press release, fans will be able to play the game at the Capcom and Sony booths, getting their hands on
new fighter Jamie.
Evo is the perfect location for such a preview since Street Fighter V is one of the headlining tournaments at the event. The competition will take place in the Michelob ULTRA Arena on August 7.
“The Street Fighter series is responsible for the origin of Evo. We are beyond excited to welcome Capcom to this year’s event and give our fans the opportunity to check out Street Fighter 6 We are committed to collaborating with publishers like Capcom in an effort to celebrate the legacy of our genre and inspire the next generation of the fighting game community,” Evo general manager Rick Thiher said.
When is Street Fighter 6 coming out?
Street Fighter 6 will come out in 2023.
Street Fighter 6’s debut at Evo is part of the game’s “world tour” leading up to the game’s official launch in 2023. There is currently no specific date for Street Fighter 6 aside from a confirmed 2023 release. It’s confirmed to launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
