Stats reveal Mirage is the popular CSGO map in 2022
Mirage is a legendary location in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and may remain in matchmaking for a long time, statistics show.
CSGO has a myriad of maps set in different atmospheres, adding a change of scenery for regular players. But the competitive pool is limited. Players feel strongly about the MM map selection, so Valve doesn’t meddle with it often. The recent Ancient addition also received mixed reactions, but players have finally adjusted. However, one map remains unmoved after plenty of swaps.
New stats show that players continue to queue Mirage in CSGO MM, making it one of the most popular maps in 2022 by a large margin.
What’s the most popular CSGO map in 2022?
Mirage is the most popular CSGO map in 2022, with 29.6% of players opting to run it in MM.
Leetify has rolled out new statistics that shine a light on map popularity in CSGO. According to the stats, Mirage, Inferno, and Dust 2 remain player favorites years after the release. Here’s how the other maps in the competitive pool fare.
The list proves that classic CSGO locations are irreplaceable for players. Dust 2 and Inferno are two of the oldest maps in Valve’s shooter, and the legendary layout still works in 2022. Players in official MM continue to find
new ways
to spice up the shabby maps, throwing unique tactics into the mix. The three locations nab the top spots by a massive margin, as Nuke comes fourth with interest from 8.1% of players.
Overpass and Cache are also scarcely picked in 2022, the former likely due to the complex learning curve. The double-story layout of Overpass is well-suited for a higher level of play, making it one of the least popular in MM. Vertigo is also a home turf of pro players, seeing much less playing time in MM. Only 4.9% of the players found it interesting enough to run in fast-paced competitive games.
Do CSGO players like Ancient?
Statistics say that CSGO players are still struggling to warm up to Ancient. Still, it’s more popular than Train in 2022.
Ancient is the latest addition to the well-established CSGO map pool. The jungle-theme map has generously been played in professional games, but MM players still stick to the classic Dust 2, Inferno, and Mirage trio. So, the Leetify list confirms that CSGO players aren’t moving on from their old maps anytime soon.
