Ninja sues Pokimane

Imane “Pokimane” Anys is one of the most popular female streamers on Twitch, which exposes her to the threat of aggressive fans and even stalkers.

Pokimane was featured in an interview with Anthony Padilla where she opened up about some of the more concerning fan interactions she’s had over the years. While many female streamers deal with scary online behavior like harassment and threats, Pokimane said one fan took it even further than that.

According to Pokimane, a man had found out her address and flew to California to find her. She discussed the encounter and what happened.

Pokimane reveals details behind shocking stalker scenario

During the interview with Padilla, Pokimane explained that a stalker had found her address and flew to California to meet her at her home. She said that he ended up walking around her neighborhood “looking for us.”

The stalker ended up coming into contact with Pokimane’s roommate. He told her roommate that he needed to see Pokimane because they were “meant to be.”

Pokimane’s roommate immediately told her about the scary situation. The two women locked all the doors of their home. This didn’t make Pokimane feel completely safe, however, and she stayed up all night streaming due to her concern that something might happen to her.

“I was like, if this guy finds me, and tries to do something scary, at least I’ll be streaming, so people will see what happens,” Pokimane said.

Pokimane reveals how disturbed fans have impacted her life

While this one incident was definitely scary for Pokimane, it sadly isn’t the only time the popular streamer has felt concerned about her safety.

During the interview, Pokimane said that she doesn’t want to purchase a home because she doesn’t want her address to get leaked. Instead, Pokimane just opts to rent places in case she has to move.

Pokimane also revealed that she has three phone numbers since her number has been leaked multiple times. She admitted she has received “many scary texts” including fans threatening to sexually assault her or find her family.

Similar stalker situations have impacted other popular streamers as well, with Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter even choosing to make her Twitter private for a while to avoid a stalker.
