Not everyone is excited by what Imane “Pokimane” Anys claimed to be as the “biggest announcement” of her career.
Earlier this week, Pokimane teased that she was going to share a huge career move the next day. Speculations ranged from Pokimane moving to YouTube Gaming to starting an OnlyFans. But Pokimane cleared up the confusion on October 27 by unveiling a talent management company for esports and streamers, RTS.
“Our goal is to make creators’ lives easier and help companies integrate into gaming!” Pokimane said.
The longtime streamer has faced a lot of challenges throughout her career and is looking to help streamers avoid these same issues and roadblocks on their own journey. As one of the biggest streamers in the world, Pokimane clearly has some insight into the content creation industry, but not everyone was excited by the news.
Thomas “Sodapoppin” Morris is a popular Twitch streamer with over 3 million followers. In a recent stream, Sodapoppin told his fans that Pokimane’s news was underwhelming.
Sodapoppin explained that Pokimane had hyped up the announcement too much by calling it the “biggest announcement of my career.” Because Pokimane made it “such a big deal,” Sodapoppin was not excited when he finally heard the news.
“I won’t lie, this is boring. I’m disappointed in that aspect. However, this is big. But it’s boring,” Sodapoppin bluntly stated.
Sodapoppin then told fans that he wanted it to be something “super poggers.” This led his fans to come up with a bit more outlandish and shocking announcements, like Pokimane starting an OnlyFans or quitting altogether.
“What the f–k is this?” Sodapoppin concluded while staring blankly at the RTS website.
Of course, not everyone in the industry was as underwhelmed. Many applauded Pokimane for her growth within the gaming and streaming industry. Many sent a simple “congrats” her way, including Corpse Husband, Jacksepticeye, and Sykkuno.
