SK Telecom T1’s jungler Kang “Blank” Sun-gu is joining Sengoku Gaming for the 2019 LJL Summer Split.
In an official press release, Sengoku Gaming said the organization was pleased to announce the addition to its League of Legends team.
“Blank has been a member of the prestigious team SKT T1 in the past, has much experience winning world championships, and has a world championship skin of his favorite champion. We look forward to seeing you all at LJL,” Sengoku Gaming said.
The esports organization also listed Blank’s past achievements in the press release. This included placing first at the IEM Season 10 World Championship, the 2016 Mid-Season Invitational, and the 2016 World Championship later that year. Blank and his team also took home a 2017 Mid-Season Invitational title and placed second in the 2017 World Championship.
Blank joined competitive League of Legends in 2014, signed under Energy Pacemaker Carries. While the team did qualify during the LSPL 2015 Spring Relegation, Blank wouldn’t become well known internationally until he joined SK Telecom T1, where he competed alongside Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and Bae “Bang” Jun-sik.
Blank is joining one other Korean player on Sengoku Gaming, bot laner Song “OdduGi” Kwang-ho. The other three players are Japanese, which has caused fans to speculate about a possible communication issue. Communication hasn’t appeared to be a damaging problem for the team yet, as they placed fourth in the LJL Spring Split.
“I will show everyone a strong performance in the LJL!” Blank said.
The 2019 LJL Summer Split begins on June 15.
