SK Gaming bot laner Juš “Crownshot” Marušič is allowed to negotiate with other teams for the 2021 season.

Crownshot’s contract with SK is set to expire in November, but is already allowed to explore new possible teams for next year. Crownshot states on Twitter that he will be looking for options in both the LEC and LCS, which means that the talented bot laner could head overseas next year.

I’m still contracted with SK until November, but they’ve allowed me to explore my options before that. Open to offers in LCS/LEC. DMs are open

While Crownshot has performed well on the LEC stage in 2020, he has also created a brand around himself after appearing as a regular guest on Nick “LS” Cesare’s LCS co-streams. He has been a big part of growing the stream, turning it into a co-stream that thousands of fans prefer to the official LCS broadcast.

Not only will Crownshot be a strong asset to many teams in both the LEC and LCS, but the teams will also get a popular player who can draw in a lot of new fans. Crownshot has been the face of SK Gaming even through rough times and has always been considered a premium talent since his time on MAD Lions in the LVP Superliga.

Where will Crownshot end up in the 2021 season?

Even though Crownshot has proven himself as a great bot laner, it will be hard to join a top team in the LEC. The level of bot laners in the LEC is sky-high, with world-class players such as Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, Luca “Perkz” Perković, Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság, and Steven “Hans Sama” Liv occupying the bot lane spot on the best European teams.

A team that could potentially be interested in a player like Crownshot would be FC Schalke 04, which barely missed qualifying for the 2020 League of Legends World Championship. Schalke has struggled to find success on a consistent basis, but Crownshot could bring that to the team.

Looking at the LCS, a few more options arise. Counter Logic Gaming is rumored to be planning a complete revamp of its roster after a dreadful 2020 season. CLG is a well-known organization but has not been able to perform in recent years. Teams such as Immortals and Dignitas might also look to make a lot of changes going into 2021, but will have to be thoughtful as Crownshot will take up an import slot.

There is also a solid chance that Crownshot will stay with SK Gaming, but fans won’t know before the off-season comes.
