Jay “sinatraa” Won is officially returning to pro Valorant, and fans are wondering whether Sentinels still has a slot saved for its former star player.

Sentinels’ former lead initiator sinatraa is preparing to resume his pro Valorant career after a hiatus of over a year. The popular streamer and pro player was barred from official Valorant events in May 2021 following sexual assault allegations. After a year of suspension, Sinatraa is set to pick up where he left off, but which team will he be joining?

The former Overwatch pro has allegedly had many opportunities offered to him since the investigation first began. But he has his eyes on one team in particular.

“It’s been a year since I was forced to step back from competitive play. In that time, I have learned a lot about myself and grown as a person. I am now ready for a return to competitive play and will be starting tryouts this week,” sinatraa said.

Is sinatraa joining Sentinels?

According to sinatraa, his top priority is to rejoin Sentinels as a pro player. It’s not entirely out of the equation for the Sova star to reclaim his spot in the team.

sinatraa was moved to Sentinels’ bench following assault allegations levied against him by ex-girlfriend Cleo “cle0h” Hernandez. Due to sinatraa’s ban from VCT events, Sentinels was forced to pick Tyson “TenZ” Ngo to fill his shoes. TenZ didn’t disappoint. The North American team wiped out other top teams, lifting the trophy at the first international event in Valorant, Masters Reykjavík. But while TenZ may have been at the helm of that 2021 win, Sentinels is now going through a slump.

Lesser teams have booted the North American giants out of VCT 2022 NA Stage 1 Challengers. The team has failed to show up on the server in numerous events, hinting that it may be time for a change. Since sinatraa was dropped, Sentinels has evaded roster changes, and the stagnancy is becoming evident. The current roster could surely use a better initiator like sinatraa, who is known for his tactical ability usage.

The possibility of sinatraa rejoining Sentinels is real. It’s worth noting that the organization never formally dropped the player. It only moved him to the content creation side. sinatraa has remained part of the Sentinels organization in some form, and the team may consider having him back considering the slump that has tainted the side since the second half of 2021.

It’s unknown how Sentinels would react to sinatraa’s wish to return, but his teammates are ready to welcome him with open arms. Jared “zombs” Gitlin says that he is willing to go as far as to pay his salary if sinatraa rejoins the squad.

Only time will time whether sinatraa’s wish comes to pass or if he’ll be forced to find a new team. Before he was sidelined, Sinatraa was considered the top Sova in the world and arguably the best overall Valorant player in North America. His return is imminent and Valorant organizations may already be jumping in to trial the ace aimer.
