Fans of FPS games have been anxiously awaiting Battlefield 2042. The futuristic shooter has been seen as a wake-up call for the Call of Duty series and now streamers like Michael “shroud” Grzesiek are already comparing it with Call of Duty: Vanguard before either game has launched.
As more and more details come out about the two games, shroud has been analyzing what players know so far. Knowing how passionate shroud has been about the two games, a fan asked shroud which game he prefers during a recent stream.
shroud answered that he has always preferred Battlefield’s gameplay over Call of Duty. Even though the two have become quite similar, he feels Battlefield has better gunplay. While very similar, the “tiniest difference” has put Battlefield over the edge for the popular streamer.
REACTING TO THE BATTLEFIELD 2042 *NEW* GAMEPLAY
shroud watched a YouTube video about Battlefield 2042’s specialists and seemed to react positively to the game so far. He said that Mackay was going to “own” due to his Nimble ability. This allows the specialist to have more accurate aim while using his grapple.
shroud also liked that Falk’s Syrette Pistols heal at a distance now instead of also reviving. shroud called the change “good,” laughing at the concept of players being constantly revived over and over again on the frontlines. He still felt that Falk was a “cool character.”
He also applauded Battlefield for making Boris’ Sentry Guns more efficient when players are nearby. It has a longer range and does more damage.
Casper is a recon specialist with a drone. He can also sense people coming up from behind.
“That’s so subtle,” shroud said. “It starts to get red at the bottom of the screen. By the time you see that, you’re probably dead. But I guess it depends where you put the sensor.”
Battlefield 2042 is set to release on November 19. Call of Duty: Vanguard is coming out a few weeks earlier, dropping November 5. FPS fans are still divided between the two but Call of Duty will most likely need a very good anti-cheat for most top streamers to choose it over Battlefield 2042.
